Activists in San Francisco demand halt to US aid to “Israel”

SAN FRANCISCO, April. 19 (YPA) – Activists protested in San Francisco and denounced what they called the “genocide in Gaza,” saying that Israel is blockading food, medicine, and shelter supplies while continuing to bomb and shoot people daily.

The activists also urged an end to U.S. funding for the occupation for killing more than 100,000 Palestinians, Lebanese, and Iranians.

In addition, they unfurled a 120-foot-long banner reading “Stop U.S. Aid to Israel” on the Twin Peaks hills, which could be seen throughout the city.

In a statement, the activists said that dozens of self-organized community members installed the 50-foot-long, 120-foot-wide banner in Palestinian colors.

The statement noted that many weapons are being shipped directly from the San Francisco Bay Area to Israel, and urged support for the Oakland People’s Ban Arms Campaign targeting the Port of Oakland for allowing military cargo shipments to Israel.
