“Israel’s” path to impose different reality in Lebanon clashes with resistance constants
Hezbollah’s Secretary-General sets new political and field equations amid “Israeli” attempts to bypass the ceasefire with Tehran.
SANAA, April 11 (YPA) – In light of the “Israeli entity’s” persistent attempts to decouple the Lebanese front from the Iranian front and isolate it—while bypassing the ceasefire agreement with Tehran by seeking direct negotiations with the Lebanese government to impose its conditions and dictates—the statement by Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem has arrived to frame the current stage both politically and militarily.
Qassem asserted that what the Israeli occupation failed to achieve on the battlefield, it will not be able to impose through politics or pressure.
Resistance Operations and Field Realities
In a message to the Lebanese people, coinciding with the Islamic Resistance intensifying its operations against the Israeli occupation in response to ceasefire violations—viewed as an irreversible defensive choice—Sheikh Qassem presented a narrative contrary to the occupation’s propaganda.
He highlighted the failure of the occupation forces to achieve a ground breakthrough despite repeated threats, noting that its soldiers and officers have fallen into resistance ambushes and its vehicles have been destroyed at the outskirts of villages and towns, reflecting the scale of the military predicament faced by the occupation.
Escalation Against Civilians
Sheikh Naim Qassem further emphasized that the occupation, after failing to stop missiles and drones that reached its settlements as far as Haifa and beyond, has resorted to escalating its aggression against civilians in Beirut, the Dahiyeh (Southern Suburbs), the South, and the Bekaa. This shift from military objectives to retaliatory behavior is seen as an attempt to mask its field failures.
Internal Front and Strategic Constants
Despite this escalation, Sheikh Qassem stressed that the popular base of the resistance remains cohesive and has grown even more steadfast. He noted that the Lebanese people have provided a remarkable model of steadfastness and solidarity, both through their sacrifices and their embrace of the displaced, signaling the failure of bets aimed at breaking the popular cradle.
Regarding strategic constants, Qassem’s speech delivered decisive messages, most notably:
- The resistance will continue “until the last breath.”
- Returning to the pre-aggression status quo is rejected.
- A clear call to Lebanese officials to stop “free concessions.”
- Reaffirming the formula of integration between the State, the Army, the People, and the Resistance as a strategic choice to protect sovereignty and expel the occupation.
The Path Forward
It has become clear that the situation in Lebanon is moving toward solidifying a new equation: the continuation of resistance in the field versus continued Israeli aggression, and field responses against violations of the ceasefire agreement.
Given these facts, the “Israeli” path and its attempts to impose a reality contrary to field facts are colliding with the resistance’s constants.
It appears that the occupation will not succeed in imposing the settlement it desires in Lebanon, especially with the stalling of negotiations between Tehran and Washington and Tehran’s insistence on including a ceasefire on the Lebanese front among its conditions for starting negotiations with the United States in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
