3 attackers killed, 2 officers injured in shooting near Israeli consulate in Istanbul

ISTANBUL, April 07 (YPA) – The vicinity of the Israeli Consulate in the Levent district of Istanbul witnessed a violent exchange of fire on Tuesday, resulting in the killing of three attackers (neutralized at the scene) and the wounding of two police officers.

Turkish authorities announced a large-scale security mobilization in the area, while the Minister of Justice assigned three public prosecutors to launch an urgent investigation into the circumstances and motives of the incident.

For its part, Israeli official radio confirmed that no Israelis were injured in the attack.
