Iran’s president says 14 million volunteers ready to defend country

TEHRAN, April 07 (YPA) – Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian clarified on Tuesday that around 14 million people have volunteered to defend the country.

“More than 14 million brave Iranians have declared their readiness to sacrifice their lives in defense of Iran,” he said in a post on the X platform.

“I, too, have been and will continue to be among those willing to make sacrifices for Iran,” he added.

On February 28, the United States and Israel reportedly launched a new wave of attacks against Iran, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians and strikes on schools, hospitals, mosques, and other civilian facilities.

In response, Iran initiated an operation named “Sincere Promise 4,” targeting Israeli positions and U.S. bases in the region.
