IRGC shoots down MQ-9 drone over Iran’s Qeshm Island

TEHRAN, April 07 (YPA) – The Navy of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Tuesday that it had shot down an US MQ-9 drone in Hormozgan province, southern Iran.

According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, the drone was destroyed over Qeshm Island. Footage released by Iranian media reportedly showed the moment the aircraft was brought down over the island.

On February 28, the United States and Israel reportedly carried out a new wave of attacks against Iran, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians and strikes on schools, hospitals, mosques, and other civilian infrastructure.

In response, Iran launched an operation dubbed “True Promise 4,” targeting Israeli positions and U.S. bases in the region.
