Lebanon Health Ministry: Casualties rise to 5,716 since start of Israeli aggression

BEIRUT, April 04 (YPA) – The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that the total casualty toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression has risen to 1,422 martyrs and 4,294 wounded since the current escalation began on March 2nd.

According to the ministry’s daily statistical report, the situation has intensified over the past 24 hours, with Israeli occupation airstrikes claiming the lives of 54 individuals and injuring 156 others. These latest figures underscore the increasing severity of the military campaign targeting various Lebanese towns and cities.

The report further detailed the heavy toll on vulnerable groups and frontline workers, noting that:

  • Civilian Casualties: The fatalities include 126 children and 93 women, while injuries among these groups have reached 441 children and 500 women.
  • Healthcare Sector: The medical community has also been severely impacted, with 54 healthcare workers martyred and 142 others injured while performing their duties.

This surge in casualties comes as the Israeli occupation continues to escalate its military operations across Lebanon, coinciding with a broader and more volatile regional conflict.
