SANAA, April 02 (YPA) -The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a weather alert regarding expected atmospheric conditions across Yemeni governorates from April 1 to April 15.
The center forecasts rainfall of varying intensity, ranging from moderate to “very heavy,” accompanied by sharp weather fluctuations.

According to the local meteorological model (YMS), the primary rainfall will be concentrated as follows:
- Mountainous Highlands: Heavy activity is expected across the Northern, Western, and Central highlands, specifically impacting the governorates of Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, Dhamar, Bayda, Amran, Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, and Raymah.
- Coastal and Desert Regions: Scattered moderate rain is anticipated in parts of the desert regions and the Southern, Western, and Eastern coasts. Intense downpours may specifically affect the southern Tihama plain and Southern coastal strips.
Safety Warnings and Instructions
The Center urged citizens in the affected areas to exercise maximum caution and adhere to the following safety guidelines:
- Stay Alert: Monitor the potential for flash floods in valleys and ravines.
- Driving Safety: Be cautious of significantly reduced horizontal visibility caused by dense cumulus cloud formations.
These warnings are part of the Center’s ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and mitigate risks associated with extreme weather events.
