Tribal gunmen cut off road for gas tankers heading to Aden

ADEN, March. 30 (YPA) – Tribal gunmen in Aden blocked the road for domestic gas tankers, preventing them from reaching the city and other neighboring areas during the past hours, activist sources reported.

The sources stated that the gunmen attacked gas trucks coming from Safer facility in Marib, damaging the tires of several trailers to disable them.

The reasons behind the road blockade are unknown, but it is believed that the gunmen have grievances against the Saudi-backed authorities in Shabwa, the sources added.

This incident comes amid a wave of escalating security chaos and the absence of state institutions in areas controlled by Saudi-backed forces.

Aden is experiencing a severe gas crisis amid a thriving black market, where the price of a gas cylinder has reached nearly 16,000 riyals.
