Iran’s military strikes key facilities at US military base in Jordan

TEHRAN, March 29 (YPA) – The Iranian military announced on Sunday that it had carried out a strong drone strike targeting an equipment depot and a US army camp at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base (Azraq base) in Jordan.

In statement No. 47, Iran described the Azraq base as “one of the most important command centers” for operations involved in attacks against Iran.

The statement highlighted the base’s significant personnel and equipment capabilities, calling it a key military hub in the region and a major installation used by the United States and its allies.

The statement added that Azraq serves as a critical operational platform, hosting various combat and transport aircraft used to conduct airstrikes.

The Iranian military concluded by affirming that it will continue its operations with full force in defense of Iran’s rights, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, said in a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Security Council that attacks against Iran had repeatedly been launched from Jordanian territory and airspace.

He stated that aircraft stationed at Azraq—including F-15, F-16, and F-35 jets—carried out strikes on southern Iranian provinces after refueling over Jordanian airspace. He also said that U.S. refueling aircraft, including KC-46 and KC-135 planes, supported these operations by conducting midair refueling missions over Jordan.

Iran warned that the use of regional countries’ territory and airspace by the United States to carry out attacks against it could make American bases in those countries targets for Iranian retaliation, as it would continue responding to what it describes as aggression, including strikes on U.S. military bases across the region and deep inside Israeli-held territory.
