Meteorologists expect rainfall to continue over coming hours

SANAA, March 29 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast continued scattered rains across several provinces over the next 24 hours.

According to its latest weather bulletin on Sunday, rainfall of varying intensity is expected in Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Bayda, the highlands of Lahj and Abyan, as well as the inland plateaus of Shabwa, Hadramout, and Mahra.

Showers may also extend to parts of the eastern and southern coastal regions and nearby inland areas.

Light to moderate, sporadic rain is also likely in areas of Rayma, Dhamar, Sanaa, Mahweet, Hajjah, Amran, Marib, and Jawf, along with parts of the Tihama plain and adjacent inland regions.

The center has urged citizens to exercise caution, warning of potential flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, and advising against crossing flood paths during or after rainfall. It also cautioned people to stay away from lightning-prone areas such as near electrical poles and tall trees.

Additionally, warnings were issued about possible rockfalls, landslides, and reduced visibility on roads and mountainous terrain due to rain or fog.
