Trump calls Saudi crown prince to join “Abraham accords,” praises strategic partnership

MIAMI, March 28 (YPA) – The US President Donald Trump has called on Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to join the “Abraham Accords” normalization path with “Israel,” asserting that “the time has come” following what he described as the “containment” of Iran’s regional influence.

Speaking Saturday at the “Future Investment Initiative” conference in Miami, Trump addressed the Crown Prince directly, suggesting that previous justifications for delaying the move are no longer applicable. He characterized the current period as a “historic moment” that could lead to the participation of all Middle Eastern nations—and potentially others outside the region—in the accords.

Trump described Prince Mohammed bin Salman as a “great friend” and a “warrior” who stood firm against threats. He also reaffirmed the “strong bond” established with King Salman bin Abdulaziz since his first visit to the Kingdom.

The US president lauded Riyadh as “highly cooperative” regarding recent military operations, contrasting its stance with some NATO allies, whose positions he described as disappointing.

Trump highlighted the fruits of the bilateral strategic partnership, citing potential Saudi investments in the US approaching $1 trillion, alongside major defense agreements that include providing the Kingdom with advanced military hardware, such as F-35 stealth fighters.

He concluded by emphasizing his intent to solidify his legacy as a “great peacemaker,” linking the mitigation of regional threats to the opening of new economic and military horizons through regional alliances.
