Iran targets Israeli army’s headquarters in Beersheba

TEHRAN, March 13 (YPA) – The Iranian army carried out drone strikes on the headquarters of the Israeli Defense Forces in the Beersheba area in in southern “Israel”.

“On the morning of today, the army of the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out drone strikes from different points of the country on the headquarters of the defense army of the Zionist regime in the occupied territories in Beersheba,” the Iranian army said in a statement.

According to the statement, the strikes on other Israeli army facilities will continue in the coming hours.

On Thursday, the Iranian army announced that it had targeted the watchtower of the Palmachim Airbase near Tel Aviv using suicide drones. The base is known as a hub for satellite launches and missile testing and is reported to host air-defense systems such as David’s Sling, as well as Hermes 900 unmanned aerial vehicles.

Iran’s armed forces said they have been striking Israeli military and strategic sites, as well as US bases in the region, using ballistic missiles and drones. Iranian officials described the attacks as a response to what they called joint US–Israeli aggression.
