OTTAWA, March. 09 (YPA) – Two synagogues in Toronto area were damaged by gunfire late on Friday night, resulting in minor damage and no injuries, according to Canadian police in the North York and Vaughan regions.
Police stated they have launched an investigation into the two incidents and have increased security presence in the area.
They are also working to determine if there is a connection between the two, and media outlets noted that this is the third such incident against synagogues in North Toronto in less than a week, following another synagogue shooting on March 2.
Observers link these attacks to the growing hatred towards Israel, amid the bloody escalation and ongoing blockade in Gaza and the Middle East, which has provoked angry reactions, leading some individuals to target Jewish communities outside the Middle East, reflecting the dangerous impact of regional conflicts on community safety abroad.
