Sanaa: US bases threaten regional stability; targeting them is “legitimate defense”

SANAA, March 02 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister of the Sanaa government, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, on Monday stated that US military bases are the primary source of threat and instability in the region, asserting that their continued presence fuels ongoing conflicts.

In a statement reported by the “Saba” news agency, Abu Ras described Iranian strikes against U.S. bases and barracks as an act of “legitimate defense” guaranteed by international law against American-Israeli aggression.

He urged Arab nations to stop protecting these bases and instead pressure for an end to the aggression, noting that defending them renders these regimes “protectors of foreign bases rather than their own national interests.”

Abu Ras concluded by reaffirming Yemen’s full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of attacks targeting its sovereignty and security.
