U.S. embassy in Baghdad warns its citizens of “active threats” amid regional tensions

BAGHDAD, March 02 (YPA) – The U.S. embassy in Baghdad has urged its citizens to exercise heightened caution, citing what it described as “active threats” targeting American interests within the country.

In an official statement, the mission noted that it is monitoring security developments related to threats directed at U.S. interests—including restaurants, businesses, and individuals—characterizing the security situation as “complex and fluid.”

The embassy warned against approaching gatherings or demonstrations, particularly in the vicinity of its headquarters, emphasizing that such events can unexpectedly turn violent. It further stressed the importance of maintaining situational awareness and avoiding crowded areas in light of escalating tensions.

This warning comes amid ongoing military actions involving the United States and Israeli occupation against Iran.

The region is currently experiencing a series of political and security escalations, keeping U.S. diplomatic missions on high alert for any field developments that could escalate further.
