Sayyed al-Houthi calls on Yemeni people to hold mass rallies for solidarity with Iran

SANAA, Feb. 28 (YPA) – Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the Yemeni Ansarallah movement, called on Yemeni people to take part in mass rallies on Sunday in the capital, Sanaa, and other provinces, expressing solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran amid escalating tensions involving the United States and Israeli enemy.

In a speech addressing recent developments, Sayyed al-Houthi emphasized the importance of large-scale public demonstrations, to be held at locations and times set by organizers.

He described the rallies as part of what he termed an “Islamic and moral duty” to support Iran, and reaffirmed what he characterized as Yemen’s firm official and popular stance alongside Tehran.

Al-Houthi said Iran is “strong and capable of responding,” asserting that its actions — including strikes on U.S. military bases in the region — fall within what he described as its legitimate right to self-defense. He added that such actions are not directed at the countries hosting those bases.

He framed the confrontation as extending beyond a bilateral conflict, calling it a struggle affecting the broader Islamic world.

The movement’s leader urged greater unity among Arab and Muslim nations, as well as increased political, popular, and media support for Iran, alongside efforts to halt military operations.

He also called for a stronger media presence across platforms to counter what he described as a “psychological war” in support of Israel enemy, stressing the need for comprehensive preparedness in light of potential developments.

Sayyed Al-Houthi concluded by stating that Iran possesses, in his view, the military capabilities and political resolve to sustain the confrontation, reiterating his appeal for widespread participation in the planned rallies as a show of solidarity during the current escalation.
