Int’l report reveals US alliance with “Muslim Brotherhood”, “Al-Qaeda” in Yemen

WASHINGTON, Feb. 28 (YPA) – A recent report issued by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) has revealed a political bombshell, uncovering hidden threads of connection linking the US administration to entities associated with terrorist groups in Yemen, which Washington claims to be fighting.

The report, prepared by writer ‘Brigitte Tomi,’ confirmed that America, in the context of its support for the pro-Saudi government in Aden, worked with the Islah Party, which is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and has links with al-Qaeda, and also dealt with factions that fought or coordinated on the ground with the organization in the Arabian Peninsula during different stages of the conflict.

“Tomi” argued that Washington was driven to work with any available partner in the war against the Yemeni forces in Sanaa, whom it called “the Houthis,” whose capabilities and control it could not understand.

The report concluded that Washington faces a double dilemma in Yemen: it is focused on confronting the Sanaa forces, but at the same time it supports the government that includes Islah party and a number of leaders who have historical ties and field connections with al-Qaeda and the extremist groups that it claims to be fighting, especially “hardline Salafism.”
