“Al-Alimi” directs extensive security shake-up in Aden

ADEN, Feb. 25 (YPA) – Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, has issued directives for wide-ranging changes across several key security positions in Aden, in a significant move to restructure the security landscape.

These reshuffles notably include officials affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).

Following these directives, Interior Minister Ibrahim Haidan issued formal decrees to implement the transition. Most notably, Jalal Al-Rubaye was relieved of his duties as the Commander of the Security Belt Forces in Aden and reassigned as the Commander of the Special Security Forces—a move interpreted by observers as a step toward his eventual permanent removal from the leadership circle.

The restructuring further extended to the leadership of the Aden Security Directorate, where Deputy Director Abu Bakr Jabr was dismissed and replaced by Mohamed Al-Subeihi. Additionally, the heads of the Criminal Investigation and Anti-Narcotics departments were replaced by Hassan Al-Amri and Mayas Al-Jaadani, respectively.

Ultimately, these shifts are seen by regional analysts as a strategic effort to consolidate authority and redistribute power within the security apparatuses operating in the city.
