Netanyahu holds emergency security consultations regarding Iran

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Feb. 25 (YPA) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held an expanded security consultation session to discuss developments in the Iranian file, amid Israeli security assessments indicating the possibility of the diplomatic track faltering and collapsing in the near future, and the potential for a broad regional escalation that could follow.

According to what Hebrew media outlets reported from military sources in the Israeli occupation army, the security services continued to raise the level of readiness on various fronts, while the Home Front Command completed a series of extensive preparations to confront what it describes as “scenarios of destruction,” referring to the possibility of the Israeli heartland being subjected to missile attacks or multi-front strikes.

They explained that rescue and relief units were placed on high alert for immediate intervention, with enhanced coordination between the army and civilian rescue agencies, and the modernization of command and control systems to ensure a rapid response in the event of a large-scale confrontation.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu escalated his rhetoric against Tehran, asserting that Israel is going through a “complex and sensitive” phase, but that it is prepared to deal with various scenarios. He emphasized that any Iranian attack would be met with a strong and unprecedented response.

This escalation comes at a time of growing international and regional concerns about the region sliding into open confrontation should diplomatic efforts to contain the tension between the two sides fail, amidst military and security preparations reflecting the level of anxiety about potential developments in the near future.
