SANAA, Feb. 20 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning said on Friday that a cold wave would continue to affect large areas of the northern and northwestern mountainous highlands.
In its weather bulletin, the center forecast cold to very cold conditions overnight and in the early morning in Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda, northern Ibb, and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan, where frost may form in limited areas.
Cold weather is also expected in Hajjah, Mahweet, Rayma, Taiz, Dhalea, and parts of the desert and plateau regions of Hadramout and Shabwa.
The bulletin warned residents in mountainous areas, as well as travelers, to take precautions against the cold—particularly the elderly, children, patients, and outdoor workers during the night and early morning.
Additionally, farmers were also advised to protect crops from potential hookup.
