EU calls on “Israel” to reverse its land registration measures in West Bank

BRUSSELS, Feb. 17 (YPA) – The European Union called on “Israel” on Monday to reverse its new measures aimed at registering land in the occupied West Bank, criticizing what it called a “new escalation” in the region.

European Commission spokesperson Anwar Al-Anouni said: “The Israeli decision constitutes a new escalation. … We reiterate that annexation (of the West Bank) is illegal under international law, and we call on Israel to reverse this decision.”

It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation authorities approved yesterday a draft decision to begin land settlement and registration procedures in the West Bank, for the first time since 1967.
