Leader in “Abu Shabab” militia admits to field cooperation with Israeli occupation to track resistance in Rafah

GAZA, Feb. 17 (YPA) – Ghassan al-Dehaini, a leader in the “Abu Shabab” militia—which collaborates with the Israeli occupation forces inside the Gaza Strip—has revealed that his operatives are directly involved in field operations, specifically within the city of Rafah.

In an interview with “Israel’s” Channel 12, al-Dehaini admitted to his militia’s participation in locating resistance tunnels and tracking its members. He stated that “military pressure” and joint operations with the occupation army are the only means to dismantle Hamas’s capabilities and disarm the movement.

The militia has already begun “neutralizing” tunnels in Rafah and plans to launch a “disarmament” phase this coming March, he stated.

Al-Dehaini claimed that the first phase—destroying tunnels—is nearing completion, to be followed by stages targeting manufacturing facilities and the seizure of individual weapons.

He noted the expansion of what he termed a “Stabilization Force” to maintain field control, claiming there is local support for their activities within the Strip despite public sentiment to the contrary.

These admissions confirm ongoing reports regarding the occupation army’s reliance on local entities acting outside the Palestinian national consensus to assist in military operations against the resistance.
