Italy grants Palestine national team coach Golden Bench Award

ROMA, Feb. 14 (YPA) – The Italian Football Federation has awarded Palestine national team technical director, Ihab Abu Jazar, its prestigious Golden Bench Award, the highest coaching honor in Italian football.

The presentation occurred at an official ceremony in Rome’s Italian Parliament, attended by Palestinian Ambassador Mona Abu Amara and Palestinian Football Federation President Jibril Rajoub.

Abu Jazar, a former international player and coach for several Palestinian clubs, served as technical director of the Palestinian Olympic team until 2024. The Palestinian Federation appointed him to the senior national team role on December 3, 2024.

Since taking charge, Abu Jazar has boosted the national team’s performance, notably at the recent Arab Cup in Qatar.
