Indonesia prepares to deploy thousands of troops to Gaza as part of “international stability force”

JAKARTA, Feb. 10 (YPA) – Indonesia has announced the commencement of logistical preparations to deploy a military force of 5,000 to 8,000 troops for international missions, primarily the “Stability Force” in the Gaza Strip for the post-war phase.

The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Maruli Simanjuntak, confirmed that technical preparations are underway for the anticipated deployment. This move aligns with the transitional security frameworks adopted by the White House under UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

According to the proposed international plan, this force will be responsible for overseeing security arrangements and disarmament and securing the flow of humanitarian aid and reconstruction materials.

In response, the head of Hamas’s political office abroad, Khaled Meshaal, expressed reservations regarding “complete disarmament,” calling it a threat to Palestinians. However, he indicated that international forces could be acceptable on “demarcation lines” as a security guarantee within a proposed long-term truce.
