Hamas warns Israeli settlement decisions deepen annexation of West Bank
GAZA, Feb. 09 (YPA) – Hazem Qassem, spokesman for Hamas Movement, said on Sunday that Israeli occupation’s far-right government is seeking to expand what he described as a genocidal war and to eliminate the Palestinian presence across all Palestinian territories.
In a statement, Qassem said recent settlement-related decisions by the Israeli government reflect a broader strategy aimed at seizing all Palestinian land and displacing its indigenous population.
He warned that these policies constitute a serious existential threat to the Palestinian people.
Qassem stressed that the situation requires practical unity among Palestinians and the development of a comprehensive national program involving all political forces to confront what he described as the Israeli government’s aggressive policies.
Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli cabinet approved a package of resolutions that would introduce significant changes to land administration and registration in the occupied West Bank. According to reports, the measures would deepen annexation efforts, allow the demolition of Palestinian-owned buildings in areas classified as “A” and “B,” and expand settlement activity in several areas.
