TEHRAN, Feb. 08 (YPA) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian described on Sunday the recent talks between his country and the United States, held through regional mediation, as a “step forward,” emphasizing that dialogue remains Tehran’s consistent strategy for resolving disputes peacefully.
Pezeshkian noted that the sessions, facilitated by friendly regional governments, reflect Iran’s approach to settling issues through negotiation.
He stressed that Iran’s logic regarding the nuclear issue is rooted in the rights established under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
The Iranian President affirmed that the Iranian people operate on the principle of reciprocity, stating that Tehran “meets respect with respect” but categorically rejects the “language of coercion and threats.”
These statements follow a negotiation session held last Friday, the first of its kind since the military escalation in the region last June. The Iranian Foreign Minister previously described the session as a “good start” with positive indicators.
