GAZA, Feb. 07 (YPA) – The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed on Saturday that the continued provision of healthcare in Gaza is a daily miracle, especially after the catastrophic effects of the “health annihilation,” which has made its continuation a major challenge to recovery efforts and the restoration of many specialized services.
It explained that the remaining functioning hospitals in the Gaza Strip, which are struggling to continue providing services, have become mere waiting stations for thousands of patients and wounded individuals facing an uncertain fate.
The ministry reiterated that the zero stocks of medicines and medical supplies have made even the simplest painkillers a luxury unattainable for those facing death every minute, explaining that 46% of the essential medicines list ,66% of medical supplies, and 84% of laboratory and blood bank materials are out of stock.
It stated that the medicines reaching the Strip’s hospitals are in limited quantities that cannot meet the actual need to continue providing healthcare services.
The Ministry of Health also considered cancer, hematology, surgery, operations, intensive care, and primary care services to be among the most affected by the crisis, stressing that saving the health situation in Gaza hospitals cannot be achieved with temporary, stopgap solutions that only exacerbate the serious consequences.
It also renewed its urgent and immediate appeal to all relevant parties to intervene to bolster drug stocks.
