Iran: ‘Trump is a liar, we will not back down from our red lines during negotiations’

TEHRAN, Feb. 07 (YPA) -The spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in Iran’s parliament, Ebrahim Rezaei, attacked US President Donald Trump amid negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

“Trump is a liar,” Rezaei wrote on X.  “The Iranian government has not and will not back down from its red lines. The Americans are the ones who, after the failure of other options (military, economic, terror), have no choice but to accept the frameworks and rights of the Iranian people.”

Earlier on Saturday, President Trump said that Washington held “very good talks” with Iran following a day of indirect negotiations in Oman, adding that additional meetings were expected early next week.

Trump, speaking to reporters, “We likewise had very good talks on Iran,” and added, “we’re going to meet again early next week.”

He added that “the Iranians are more ready to move than they were a year and a half ago or even a year ago,” suggesting that Tehran “wants to make a deal.”

The latest round of indirect US-Iran talks concluded temporarily on Friday.
