HODEIDA, Jan. 20 (YPA) – The Fish Unit at “Suhool Yemen” Company, in cooperation with the “Tihama Coast Cooperative Society,” announced the success of an advanced local packaging and freezing technology, in a strategic move aimed at advancing the fisheries sector.
This innovation grants marine products a shelf life of up to 9 months while fully preserving their quality and natural flavor.
This partnership provides sustainable solutions to the long-standing challenge of rapid spoilage, opening broad horizons for marketing Yemeni products both locally and internationally. The initiative aims to reduce waste and ensure stable demand, which will positively impact fishermen’s livelihoods and enhance the efficiency of national exports and food security systems.
Concerned authorities emphasized that this achievement represents a transition from traditional preservation to advanced technical standards. This shift grants Yemeni products a high competitive edge in foreign markets by offering an extended display period while maintaining the characteristics of fresh produce.
