QUDS, Jan. 20 (YPA) – A 17-year-old ultra-Orthodox boy was killed on Tuesday after being run over during a protest in the settlement of Kiryat Gat, south of Jaffa, known as Tel Aviv, according to Hebrew media reports.
The incident occurred during a demonstration organized by ultra-Orthodox Jews opposing a decision to conduct autopsies on the bodies of two infants who died a day earlier at a kindergarten.
The decision sparked widespread anger among members of the ultra-Orthodox community, who reject autopsies on religious grounds.
Following the protests and the ensuing unrest, the Israeli occupation’s Supreme Court announced a suspension of the autopsy order, freezing its implementation pending further review.
