GAZA, Jan. 17 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip through a series of land and air attacks, despite U.S. Envoy Steve Witkoff’s announcement regarding the implementation of the agreement’s second phase.
Palestinian media reported that a Palestinian citizen was wounded by occupation forces fire east of Al-Bureij camp (central Gaza), while a child sustained a serious head injury in the Al-Atatra area, west of Beit Lahiya (north).
Israeli warplanes launched strikes on eastern Gaza City and Deir al-Balah. Simultaneously, Israeli occupation forces carried out large-scale demolitions of residential blocks in eastern Khan Younis and western Rafah, including the detonation of a “booby-trapped robot” in northern Beit Lahiya.
Eastern Khan Younis witnessed heavy fire from Israeli occupation military vehicles, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis among displaced civilians.
The death toll has reached 464 martyrs have been reported since the ceasefire was declared, with 1,275 new wounded, while 712 bodies have been recovered from under the debris of previously destroyed buildings.
With these latest figures, the victims’ toll from the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 71,548 martyrs and 171,353 injured, amid a total absence of actual commitment to the truce terms and catastrophic humanitarian conditions.
