Death toll from Israeli aggression on Gaza reaches to 71,548

GAZA, Jan. 17 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza Strip announced, on Saturday, that the cumulative death toll from the Israeli aggression in the Strip has risen to 71,548 martyrs and 171,353 injuries since the start of the Zionist aggression on October 7, 2023.

In its daily statistical report, the Gaza Health Ministry stated that Gaza Strip hospitals received one new martyr and six injuries during the past 24 hours.

It indicated that 92 martyrs were added to the cumulative death toll, whose data was completed and approved by the Martyrs’ Approval Committee between January 2 and January 16, 2026.

“Many victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them at this moment,” the ministry added.

In addition, it revealed that the death toll since the ceasefire on October 11 has reached 464 martyrs and 1,275 injuries, in addition to the recovery of the bodies of 712 martyrs.

The Gaza Health Ministry also announced the death of a 27-day-old baby girl due to the extreme cold, bringing the total number of child deaths from the cold since the beginning of winter to 8.
