Israeli Minister of Education makes secret visit to UAE

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 17 (YPA) – Israeli Education Minister Yoav Kisch paid an official visit to the UAE from January 11 to 16, leading a delegation that included officials from the Ministry of Education and the Council for Higher Education during first visit of its kind by an Israeli Education Minister since the signing of the Abraham Accords.

Israeli sources stated that the visit was subject to media censorship for security reasons and was only revealed after the delegation’s return, given the sensitivity of the visit and its timing.

It should be noted that Kisch met with several senior Emirati officials during his tour, including Minister of Education Sarah Al Amiri, as well as academic officials.

He also visited prominent educational and research institutions, including Khalifa University and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.

In addition, the discussions touched on issues related to the curriculum in the Emirati education system, particularly those concerning the context of the Israeli occupation and the Holocaust.

The Israeli delegation included representatives from the academic community, including the Director General of the Council for Higher Education and the heads of several educational institutions, in a move aimed at establishing long-term academic partnerships between the two sides.
