SANAA, Jan. 12 (YPA) – Member of Ansarallah’s Political Bureau, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, revealed on Monday the Saudi goal in establishing a military committee operating inside Yemen under its supervision.
In a news statement, he described the committee as a neo-colonial instrument designed to manage a proxy war and to implement what he called “American-Zionist” agendas under Saudi sponsorship.
Al-Bukhaiti stressed that Saudi Arabia, which appointed Rashad al-Alimi and effectively controls the selection of the defense minister for the so-called “hotel government, “has no practical need for a new military committee, unless its purpose is to directly manage mercenary forces and their leadership from Riyadh, bypassing any formal Yemeni political façade.
He explained that this step reflected a bitter reality, which is that the mercenary forces of various formations were prepared, trained and adapted to obey the foreign officer, whether Saudi, Emirati, American or British. He likened the current situation to earlier phases of classical colonialism, when colonial powers appointed a “high representative” to administer the territories under their control.
Al-Bukhaiti stressed that the declared objective of forming the committee is to prepare for a new round of military confrontation against Yemen led by Saudi Arabia, noting that the Saudi escalation coincides with Israeli escalation in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, as well as heightened American pressure against Iran. According to al-Bukhaiti, these parallel developments clearly demonstrate that Riyadh is moving in service of what he described as the “American-Zionist project.”
He pointed out that Saudi Arabia has tried to mislead public opinion by promoting that its escalation as being directed against Emirati policies. However, he affirmed that the reality is that both projects ultimately serve the Zionist entity. According to al-Bukhaiti the Emirati project serves Zionism under a secular guise, while the Saudi project is more dangerous because it does so under a religious cloak.
Al-Bukhaiti pointed out that the United States preferred the Saudi option at this stage for mobilizing Islamist groups inside and outside Yemen, and seeking to implicate major countries such as Pakistan and Turkey in the aggression, to fill the vacuum left by the UAE.
