Gaza death toll tops 71,419 amid ongoing Israeli attacks

GAZA, Jan. 12 (YPA) – About seven Palestinians were killed in the ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip over the last 84 hours, bringing the overall death toll since Oct 7, 2023, to 71,419, the Gaza-based Health Ministry said on Monday.

A ministry statement added that 4 wounded also arrived at the Gaza hospital, bringing the number of them about 171,318 in the ongoing assault.

“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads, with rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

The statement revealed that the death toll since the ceasefire on October 11 amounted to 442 martyrs, with 1,240 injured, in addition to the recovery of the bodies of 697 martyrs.
