Germany calls on “Israel” to halt E1 settlement project

BERLIN, Jan.10 (YPA) – Germany on Friday called on “Israel” to stop its colonial E1 project, warning that the plan “signals increased unrest in the West Bank and the region.”

A spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry said at a government press conference that “it must be noted that plans to establish the E1 settlement project are part of a broader intensification of the settlement policy in the West Bank, which we have observed in recent times.”

The spokesperson added that the project threatens “to increase unrest because it will further restrict the movement of Palestinian residents in the West Bank” and undermine the prospects for a two-state solution.
