Sanaa FM warns against any Israeli presence in Somaliland

SANAA, Jan. 07 (YPA) – Deputy minister of foreign affairs and expatriates of the Sanaa-based government, Abdul Wahid Abu Rass, condemned on Tuesday the visit of the so-called Foreign Minister of the Israeli occupation to the city of Hargeisa in Somaliland.

In a statement, he considered the visit a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Somalia.

Abu Rass affirmed that this step falls within the Zionist plan aimed at turning Somaliland into a foothold for the entity’s hostile activities against the countries of the region, which undermines regional security and stability and poses a direct threat to the security of the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the safety of international navigation.

He pointed out that any presence of the Zionist enemy in the Somali territories would be considered as a “red line”.

The Yemeni official called on the countries bordering the Red Sea and all Arab and Islamic countries to coordinate jointly and stand firm in the face of Zionist plans that have become aimed at the security of the entire region.

He reiterated Yemen’s firm position in support of the security and stability of Somalia, stressing that any Israeli presence in the territory of Somaliland would be considered a legitimate military objective of the Yemeni armed forces.
