SHABWA, Jan. 06 (YPA) – Informed military sources have revealed that the Saudi-backed “Dera Al-Watan” factions have begun redrawing their deployment map across Yemen’s southern and eastern regions.
These forces are scheduled to take over military camps and vital strategic sites in Shabwa Governorate this evening.
The handover follows agreements reached with relevant parties and the announcement by the Governor of Shabwa, Awadh Al-Wazir, of his support for Saudi Arabia and the head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi.
Eyewitnesses observed large military convoys belonging to the “Dera Al-Watan” arriving from Hadramout governorate, following Saudi Arabia’s success in ousting UAE-backed factions from the governorates of Hadramout and Mahra.
The Saudi-led Coalition command previously issued a strongly worded statement warning against any interference with the movement of these factions during their transit to Shabwa.
Reports indicate that the deployment plan will not stop at Shabwa; these factions intend to head toward Abyan Governorate as part of a large-scale plan to establish control over Aden and Lahj in the coming period, as part of Saudi efforts to consolidate influence across all coalition-controlled areas.
