Islamic Jihad Movement: The aggression against Venezuela reveals American intentions to occupy it

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 03 (YPA) – The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement condemned, on Saturday, the malicious American aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the raids that targeted the capital, Caracas, and its people.

In a press statement, the movement said that “These acts of aggression, which have taken escalating forms from a naval blockade to direct military strikes, reveal intentions of hegemony, occupation, and the imposition of control by force and oppression. They represent a blatant violation of international law and national sovereignty and are an extension of the imperialist policy aimed at subjugating peoples and plundering their resources.”

The movement indicated that targeting Venezuela today is punishment for its steadfast international positions, foremost among them its historical and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the resistance forces in our region, and its solidarity with our people in the face of war crimes and genocide.

“The struggle of the Venezuelan people for their freedom and independence is part of our nation’s own battle against hegemony and neo-colonialism,” the movement added.

The movement also affirmed its full solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their legitimate government, led by President Nicolás Maduro, in the face of this aggressive campaign

It called upon all liberation forces and free peoples of the world to reject this aggression and to stand with Venezuela in defense of the principle of state sovereignty and the right of peoples to self-determination.
