North Korea test-fires strategic long-range cruise missiles

PYONGYANG, Dec. 29 (YPA) – North Korea has successfully conducted a long-range strategic cruise missile test over its territorial waters, marking the latest demonstration of its growing military capabilities, state media reported Monday.

According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim Jong-un has overseen launches of long-range strategic cruise missiles, calling for the “unlimited and sustained” development of state nuclear combat forces.

KCNA initially reported a single launch but later confirmed that two projectiles had been fired over the Yellow Sea.

The agency said the operation aimed to assess the “counteroffensive readiness and combat capability of long-range missile subunits.”
