SANAA, Dec. 29 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Sanaa, Abdulwahid Abu Raas, has expressed Yemen’s appreciation for Iran’s positions calling for an end to the aggression and the lifting of the siege imposed on Yemen, commending Tehran’s principled support for the causes of the Islamic Ummah, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.
In a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Abu Raas reaffirmed Sana’a’s commitment to achieving peace in Yemen, stressing that the time has come to end the state of “no war, no peace” and move forward toward a comprehensive settlement that would end the suffering of the Yemeni people and safeguard their legitimate rights.
For his part, the Iranian foreign minister welcomed the prisoner exchange agreement, expressing hope that it would help pave the way for resolving all remaining issues, ultimately leading to peace and stability in Yemen and preserving its unity. Both sides agreed to continue consultations and coordination in the coming period.
