Supreme Political Council warns “Israel” against using Somali territory for military purposes

SANAA, Dec. 29 (YPA) -The Supreme Political Council considered the Zionist entity’s announcement recognizing the “Somaliland” region as a separate entity from the Federal Republic of Somalia to be a blatant act of aggression and a clear violation of the sovereignty and unity of the sisterly Republic of Somalia, as well as an overt interference in its internal affairs.

In a statement, the Council affirmed its full solidarity with the brotherly Somali people and their inalienable right to preserve the unity of their land, their sovereignty, and the independence of their national decision making.

It strongly condemned this recognition issued by an usurping entity that lacks legitimacy for itself, noting that it comes within the framework of the Zionist entity’s expansionist schemes aimed at destabilizing security and stability in the Arab and African regions, threatening international navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and undermining Arab and Islamic national security.

The Council warned the Zionist entity against any endeavors or attempts to take any part of Somali territory as a foothold to carry out its aggressive, intelligence, and military agendas, stressing that such actions constitute a direct threat to the security and stability of the entire region, with consequences not limited to Somalia alone.

It held all parties complicit with the Zionist entity in the Somaliland region fully responsible politically, legally, and morally for the repercussions of this dangerous course and the resulting threats to the security of Somalia and the region.

The Supreme Political Council emphasized that any Zionist presence or activity on Somali territory will be considered a military target for the armed forces, as it constitutes aggression against Somalia and against Yemeni, Arab, and Islamic national security, and will not be treated as a fait accompli or an acceptable reality.

The Council affirmed that Somalia’s security is inseparable from Yemen’s security, that regional security is a shared responsibility, and that the nation, if it unites its positions, is capable of thwarting all Zionist conspiracies regardless of their tools or changing pretexts.

It renewed its principled and steadfast stance opposing normalization, rejecting recognition of the Zionist entity, and supporting the just causes of the nation, foremost the Palestinian cause, as the first line of defense for the nation’s security and dignity. Abandoning it opens the door for the Zionist enemy to plunder peoples’ resources and target their states one after another.

Finally, the Supreme Political Council called on all states on both sides of the Red Sea, and on the Arab and Islamic world, to take practical steps to prevent the Israeli scheme from violating Somalia and the region as a whole.
