Senior Sanaa official calls for dialogue among southern forces

SANAA, Dec. 24 (YPA) – A senior Sanaa official on Wednesday called on all forces and political components in the southern provinces of Yemen controlled by the Saudi-led coalition to engage in direct dialogue aimed at ending internal divisions and facing common challenges.

Member of Ansarallah’s political bureau, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, affirmed that Sanaa’s door remains open and its hand keeps extended to all southerners for dialogue, based on the principle of resolving all issues within fair and national frameworks.

“We support a just solution to the southern issue within the national frameworks, and southerners should act in a way that serves all of Yemen and ends its internal problems,” al-Bukhaiti said in a post on the X.

He stressed the need for the southern forces and components to stand united in front of what he described as” challenges and dangers facing the country”.

The Yemeni official’s invitation comes amid an escalating competition for influence between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the southern and eastern provinces of Yemen, a conflict linked to broader regional agendas aimed at controlling the country’s natural resources, in accordance with the American-Zionist project to control Yemeni wealth in those areas.

This rivalry has coincided with an expanded military presence established in recent years, including military bases on the Yemeni islands in the Socotra archipelago east of the Gulf of Aden, as well as the islands of Zuqar and Mayon at the southern entrance to the Red Sea.
