24 Palestinians injured in large-scale Israeli raid on occupied Al-Quds

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Dec. 24 (YPA) -Twenty-four Palestinians were injured by live fire and tear gas during a large-scale Israeli military raid on several towns north of occupied city of Quds (Jerusalem)  on Tuesday, amid escalating tensions.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported treating six individuals injured by live and rubber bullets, one from physical assault, and 17 others suffering from tear gas inhalation in Qalandiya and Kafr Aqab, including a 15-year-old boy.

Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Governorate confirmed that Israeli forces forcibly evacuated several residential homes in Kafr Aqab and Qalandiya Refugee Camp, expelling families before turning the properties into military outposts.

The governorate condemned the move as part of a deliberate escalation targeting Jerusalem residents, calling it a blatant violation of human rights and international law, with dire humanitarian consequences, particularly for children and the elderly.

Local sources said large numbers of Israeli military and police forces stormed both Qalandiya Camp and Kafr Aqab, triggering clashes with residents. Snipers were seen stationed on rooftops, while troops fired live ammunition and tear gas throughout the area, injuring a young man and causing numerous suffocation cases.

The Israeli occupation forces also raided several shops near Qalandiya Camp and Kafr Aqab, amid a heavy military presence. Witnesses reported seeing Israeli bulldozers and military vehicles on Airport Street near the separation wall, while Qalandiya checkpoint was shut down, with soldiers and municipality staff deployed in the area.

The raid extended to the town of Al-Ram, where several people suffered from tear gas inhalation after it was fired between residential homes.

The Jerusalem Governorate warned of the grave danger posed by the continued Israeli raids in Kafr Aqab, Qalandiya Camp, and the surrounding main roads, saying they pose a direct threat to the safety and lives of residents.

The governorate held Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for any further escalation, noting that the latest assaults followed leaflets dropped by the Israeli army announcing an upcoming incursion under the pretext of removing “building violations,” which then turned into an aggressive use of force in densely populated neighborhoods.
