Yemen Scholars condemn desecration of Holy Quran, call for general mobilization against USA, “Israel”
SANAA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – Yemeni scholars on Saturday strongly condemned the “Zionist-American” insults directed at the Holy Quran.
This came during a broad scholarly meeting organized by the “Yemen Scholars Association” in Sanaa today. The meeting’s final statement declared that those responsible for such desecration are “legally liable to death” (Mahdoor al-Dam) under Sharia law, holding the U.S. administration fully responsible for the repercussions of these provocations.
The scholars called for a general jihadist mobilization to confront “the forces of tyranny” and urged an immediate political and economic boycott of the United States, “Israel”, and Britain.
The statement emphasized the religious duty to support Gaza and the West Bank, expressing solidarity with Hezbollah and the free people of Syria. It also explicitly declared the Egyptian-Israeli gas deal “religiously prohibited” (Haram), asserting that these resources belong to the Palestinian people.
The scholars criticized the silence of certain Arab and Islamic leaders, stating that their alignment with American policies is a “stain of shame” that has emboldened further attacks on Islamic sanctities.
The association urged the Yemeni people to celebrate “Rajab Friday” to reinforce faith-based identity against “soft warfare.” They also praised the massive historical rallies in Al-Sabeen Square and other provinces as a true reflection of the Yemeni people’s devotion to the Quran and the Palestinian cause.
