SPC holds US administration responsible for insulting Holy Quran

SANAA, Dec. 17 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council (SPC) in Sanaa strongly condemned on Wednesday a disgraceful insult to the Holy Quran committed by a U.S. election candidate.

In a statement, the council described this crime as a blatant attack on the holiest shrines of Muslims and a provocation to the feelings of more than two billion Muslims around the world.

The statement stressed this disgraceful act came in the context of a systematic hostile approach adopted by the forces of global arrogance, foremost of which is the United States of America and the Zionist entity, which target Islam and its symbols within a cultural and media war parallel to the aggression, crimes and violations practiced in Palestine and the rest of the region.

It held the US administration politically and morally responsible for allowing such provocative practices.

The council’s statement the abuse of the Holy Quran will not impair its sanctity and will not weaken the nation’s attachment to it, but will increase believers’ adherence to their religion and awareness of the reality of the hostile project that targets them in their religion, sovereignty and dignity.

It called on the Yemeni people to come out in mass public marches next Friday in response to the call by Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi to express anger and public rejection of these abuses.
