Hamas demands putting end to systematic Israeli targeting of UNRWA

GAZA, Dec. 17 (YPA) – The Hamas movement considered on Tuesday the approval by the so-called foreign and security committee in the Zionist Knesset of a draft resolution banning the provision of basic services, such as water and electricity, to the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA), a dangerous escalation step.

In a statement, the movement said the Israeli escalation is within the context of the systematic criminal attack against the UN agency aimed at undermining its humanitarian role towards the Palestinian people.

The statement called on the international community, the United Nations and its institutions to shoulder their responsibilities and put an end to the systematic Zionist targeting of UNRWA.

It called for obliging the Israeli entity to reverse its false measures against the UNRWA, and support its continuation in performing its humanitarian mission in serving the refugees of our people and their relief, especially in light of the unprecedented humanitarian disaster created by the occupation in the Gaza Strip.
