New talks on prisoners file to be held Friday

SANAA, Dec. 11 (YPA) – A new round of negotiations will begin tomorrow in Muscat between the Sanaa government and the Saudi-led coalition on the prisoners file, sources familiar with the matter said on Thursday.

The sources told Yemen Press Agency (YPA) that the negotiations are being held under the auspices of the United Nations, to develop clear implementation mechanisms for any future agreement and to focus on ways to secure the mutual release of detainees by both sides.

In a previous statement, Chief of the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs Abdul-Qader al-Murtadha, urged the Saudi regime and its factions to stop obstructing and complicating the prisoners’ file.

He said, “We hope to witness a near breakthrough in this file, which has been stalled for a long time.”

Al‑Murtadha renewed Sanaa’s readiness to enter a comprehensive deal to secure the release of all prisoners.
