MOSCOW, Dec. 11 (YPA) – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced Thursday morning that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 287 Ukrainian drones overnight, most of them over the regions of Bryansk, Kaluga, and Moscow, RT reported.
According to the ministry’s statement cited by RT, the drones were destroyed across several regions, including 118 over Bryansk, 40 over Kaluga, 40 in the Moscow area with 32 headed toward the capital.
The statement added that the destroyed drones were distributed as follows: 27 over Tula, 19 in Novgorod, 11 in Yaroslavl, 10 in Lipetsk, 6 in Smolensk, 5 each in Kursk and Oryol, 4 in Voronezh, and 2 in Ryazan.
Four international airports in the Moscow region imposed temporary restrictions on air traffic overnight, leading to the delay or cancellation of about 200 flights, according to the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency. The restrictions were lifted in the morning hours.
