GAZA, Dec. 10 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation government announced a new condition on Saturday morning for advancing the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip, which is the release of the remains of captive Ran Gvili.
The Hebrew Channel 12 reported that “Israel” is conditioning the start of negotiations for Phase Two of the agreement on the “reception of all Israeli bodies,” noting that only one body remains in Gaza following the handover of the Thai worker’s remains.
This demand comes despite the fact that Palestinian resistance had already handed over 20 living Israeli captives and the remains of 27 others during Phase One.
The new condition follows statements made by Abu Hamza, the spokesperson for Al-Quds Brigades (the military wing of Islamic Jihad), who confirmed yesterday that the Brigades had closed the file of enemy captives in their possession after delivering the last body on the previous Wednesday.
In stark contrast to the urgency for the Israeli remains, the occupation continues its intransigence regarding the bodies of Palestinian captives.
According to the Government Media Office in Gaza, there are 9,500 missing Palestinians killed during the war whose remains are still trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes.
